What to check when an automation is paused

A step-by-step check for paused automations: review the saved rule and its setup, follow the logs, then resume once the cause is fixed.

Updated

Paused is a state to understand before it is a button to press. Start with the automation's context so that resuming it is a deliberate decision.

Read the saved configuration

Open the automation and review its mode, current state and end condition. Compare those details with what you expected it to do. Do not recreate a rule simply because the list shows it as paused.

Check the setup behind the rule

Monitoring can be saved paused when a required withdrawal destination has not been resolved. Connection verification and billing context may also be relevant to available actions. Use the visible messages to identify which screen needs attention.

Follow the event trail

Open Logs and find the activity associated with this automation. The message and identifiers provide better evidence than the state label alone. Consult Transactions for recorded conversions or withdrawals.

Resume with a reason

When the relevant issue is understood and corrected, use Resume if the application offers it. Check the resulting state. Repeatedly pressing actions without resolving the underlying context does not make the intended behavior clearer.

When you need help

Send support the automation identifier, visible state, relevant time and error text. Keep exchange credentials and authentication codes out of the conversation.
