Keep an automation aligned with your routine by making deliberate changes to its existing settings. Review the current state first, because the interface may limit what can be edited while a rule is executing.
Edit an existing rule
- Open Automations and find the intended automation.
- Choose Edit from its available actions.
- Review the existing settings before changing a field.
- Adjust the editable values and continue to Review.
- Compare the summary with your intended change, then save.
- Return to the automation and confirm the saved result.
Understand editing limits
The editing flow does not include choosing a new mode. While an automation is executing, the review flow identifies that only its name and end condition can be saved. Respect the fields and guidance shown for the current state.
If a change is rejected
Read the validation message and correct that field. For execution behavior that remains unclear, inspect Logs before submitting repeated updates.
Make changes easy to recognize
Use a descriptive name and review one intended change at a time. This makes the next execution easier to compare with your expectations.
